Financial controller

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, ideally complemented by a professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, RC, or CMA).
• At least five years of relevant experience within a similar position.
• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring and reporting variances.
• Prepare and publish monthly financial statements for management and the board (P&L, revenue, operating expenses, and cash flow).
• Manage revenue recognition, ensuring alignment between business contracts, invoicing, and reporting.
• Oversee daily and weekly cash flow management, including follow-ups on overdue invoices and collections.
• Supervise accounting and customer invoicing, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bookkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, including CIT and VAT.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Play a key role in financial modelling and writing business cases.
