We are looking for a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller for an international industrial engineering group operating as a European holding company. The organisation is transitioning from a decentralised structure to a centralised holding model, with key operations in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. We are seeking an experienced overhead/holding controller to manage holding-level accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and other core finance activities, while also being hands-on when needed.

What are you going to do?
Holding & Overhead Controlling
- Serve as the controller for holding entities, overseeing overhead accounting, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reporting deliverables.
- Monitor holding-level transactions and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare accurate management and statutory reports for the holding company.
Accounting & Compliance
- Perform hands-on accounting activities: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and complex intercompany bookings.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger for the holding entities.
- Support VAT filings and multi-country compliance.
- Assist with payroll accounting (journal postings, reconciliations).
- Support project accounting where applicable.
Operational Finance Coverage
- Collaborate with the Assistant Controller managing day-to-day financial administration.
- Provide operational coverage when required, including invoice processing, AP/AR tasks, or other hands-on accounting.
- Ensure continuity of financial processes during absences or peak workloads.
Cross-Country Coordination
- Act as a financial link between teams in the Netherlands, France, and Germany.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support ERP development and harmonisation
What will you bring along?
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent.
- Strong background in accounting and holding-level controlling.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany, accruals, and complex bookings.
- Knowledge of VAT filings, payroll accounting, and project accounting.
- Experience with SAP is preferred; Exact Globe experience is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written); Dutch preferred but not required.
- Able to operate in an environment requiring both corporate structure and entrepreneurial/family-business agility.
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills; confident working with stakeholders across NL, FR, and DE.
- Pragmatic, structured, accurate, and able to switch between hands-on accounting tasks and higher-level reporting responsibilities.
