Background
I studied Supply Chain Management in Rotterdam and obtained my master’s at Nyenrode. I had no idea about my future and had to start working in my parents' company. I wanted to leave there quickly, so I started looking for a job in Amsterdam. That's how I ended up at Michael Page, a multinational in the field of recruitment. I worked there with pleasure for eight years and learned the entire game of Finance recruitment on a permanent and interim basis. I was able to set up various business units and eventually became part of the Senior Management team. Then, the itch came. It was time for a new challenge. In 2019, I moved to entrepreneurship and started Fuuse, a company focusing entirely on Finance recruitment.

What do you enjoy most about working at Fuuse?
The best thing about Fuuse is the entrepreneurial atmosphere that prevails here. We want to build a successful business! We take everyone's input into account when making decisions, even those for the long term. The mentality is excellent. We work hard for our successes, but we celebrate them even harder if possible. For example, we recently went to Barcelona as a team. We're also great at having drinks together.

What was your most satisfying placement?
I've been in recruitment for twelve years now. And making a deal is the most satisfying thing there is. Understanding what the hiring manager and the company want and then making the perfect match for the candidate and the client. That gives me such a kick. And I love to think along with people. With the candidate about the ideal next step, and with the organization about the ideal match for the team to solve the problem further.

If I must choose one match: my most satisfying placement is the Group CFO of Corendon. The longest and most difficult process is often the most beautiful to close. It gives you the most satisfaction, and that’s what you’re working for.

What were you doing five years ago?
Five years ago, I worked in recruitment at a large corporation on the Zuidas, where I was responsible, among other things, for Finance and Procurement & Supply Chain recruitment on a contract/interim basis. I was caught up in the rat race to climb the ladder. I learned a lot there, but ultimately entrepreneurship has brought me much more than the corporate ladder. At Fuuse, we have much more focus on relationships. To be successful in the long run, you must be a business partner and look beyond the numbers.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I hope that Fuuse has further grown into a serious boutique recruiter with even more enthusiastic entrepreneurial colleagues who are building success together. Who want to win together and want to service the client and the candidate in the best possible way by being a business partner for them.

What do you do when you're not working?
I usually do fun things with my friends and family when I’m not working. I also regularly go to the gym to get in shape, ha-ha. It's a great outlet. I also enjoy diving and snowboarding. And I'm a world traveller; I've been to the Philippines, India, Nepal, Peru, Borneo, Tanzania, and Kenya. Beautiful!
